Bunger Electric, Inc. was founded by Tom Bunger and his wife Kathy in Denton, Texas, in 1994. In true entrepreneur fashion, Mr. Bunger didn’t want to be just another name on a punch card. He wanted to forge his own path and be his own man. Through dedication and sacrifice, his small family-owned electrical service and repair company was born.
Fast forward to 2004, when a young 22-year-old apprentice electrician went to work for Mr. Bunger. This is where Jeff Moncrief became part of the Bunger family.
Mr. Bunger quickly realized that Jeff was different from the young guys who had worked for him in the past. Jeff and Tom were similar in so many ways—it was almost unbelievable.
The two men worked side by side, just the two of them, for many years.
In 2013, Tom started thinking about retirement. That’s when he and Jeff began discussing Jeff buying the company. In 2014, the deal was done: Tom officially retired, and Jeff became the new owner.
Jeff and his wife Ashley teamed up with the goal of preserving the same values that Tom and Kathy had originally established for the company.
